Financial Advisor

It's Simply Good Business

These training sessions are specifically designed for professional advisors.

What is Planned Giving?

There are many misunderstandings about Planned Giving in the professional advisor world.  This session will focus on understanding the broad areas that planned giving includes – not just CRTs and CGAs and other complex vehicles which make up well less than 10% of the PG revenue!  We will also explain why Planned Giving is so important to your clients and to your businesses.

Initiating Legacy Discussions

Tapping into and helping your clients’ legacy aspirations not only leads to planned gifts but also opens vistas for long-term thinking about investments and life in general.  This is perhaps the most important facet of Planned Giving which can enhance your approach to assisting your clients with their long-term plans and establishing yourself as a truly trusted advisor.

Working With Nonprofits: Opportunities to do good and build your business

Developing working relationships with nonprofits and their fundraisers is critical for expanding your presence through nonprofit networks.  We will give you an insider’s perspective (from the nonprofit side!) on these associations and how to best to approach this great opportunity for increased exposure and fruitful relationships in the nonprofit sector.

Charitable Remainder Trusts

These vehicles offer a “win-win” for you and your clients.  Convert highly appreciated stocks into fixed lifetime income with no capital gains and an upfront charitable income tax deduction. And, the advisor often continues to manage the assets!  Learn about the different versions of these trusts, where they apply best, and how to avoid pitfalls.

Charitable Gift Annuities

These vehicles are also another “win-win” for your clients in terms of creating an annuity, avoiding capital gains and receiving a charitable deduction.  While advisors do not continue to manage these assets, it is worthwhile to know when they are the best option for your clients.  In this session, we will explain how these work and how they compare to Charitable Remainder Trusts.

Charitable Lead Trusts

The most sophisticated of all planned gifts and one of the most complex estate planning tools!  This session will clearly define these trusts (and what they are not!), the various incredible options for reducing estate, gift, income and capital gain taxes, and where they may best apply to your clients!
